2025-2026 Annual Appeal
As we approach the holiday break, North Park Hockey Association is pleased to report a terrific first half of the 2025-2026 season. Our Full Ice 8U Mite team (“Central Park Leafs”) has gone undefeated thus far in MAMA league play, and our newly-launched North Park Girls program (8U – 16U) is steadily gaining momentum while helping to grow girls’ hockey in New York City. Our Tier II teams across the EJEPL, HVHL, and LIAHL leagues are having great success; three teams (12U, 16U, and 18U) are on track to qualify for the EJEPL playoffs, one 10U, two 12U, and three 14U teams are in the running for the HVHL playoffs, and one 10U team is likely to clinch a spot in the LIAHL playoffs. Finally most of our Tier I, NYC Hockey Club teams in the THF are in position to see postseason action, with several currently ranked in the Top 10 in their respective age groups for all of New York State. There is much excitement ahead in 2026!
In October, North Park held its first-ever Fall Festival hosting teams from Czech Vikings Hockey from the Czech Republic. It was a successful inaugural event showcasing our talented skaters and program against a renowned European club. As fall comes to a close, North Park will have sent teams to compete nationally in locations including Chicago, Boston, Washington, DC, Upstate New York, Dallas, Tampa, Philadelphia and many others. We are proud that our Development programs, the North Park House Program and the 6U Mites, allow our organization to offer hockey at all levels and ages (4-18) for the Five Boroughs of New York City and surrounding communities in the Tri-State Area.
With the November opening of the Davis Center in Central Park, at the site of the old Lasker Rink, teams have hosted and will continue to host the “Winter Classic” series through the fall and winter. This is a special location for all who have played North Park Hockey as Lasker Rink was the site of our founding almost four decades ago. And with that, as we pay homage to our past, we also look forward to preparing for the 40th Season Celebration in Winter 2027.
Through the sport of youth ice hockey, North Park champions high-level competition both regionally and nationally and, most importantly, espouses the virtues of character formation and sportsmanship at all levels. North Park would not be the program it is today without your unwavering support via the Annual Appeal. We are filled with gratitude for your continued generosity, which over the years has laid the groundwork for additional programming and other opportunities to say “Yes.”
As a 501(c)(3) volunteer-run not-for-profit, North Park Hockey Association has no overhead or margin. Your tuition goes directly to the programming for our children, on and off the ice. Additionally, we work hard to ensure efficient rosters to facilitate optimal ice time for all kids. Your contributions to the Annual Appeal are critical in helping North Park fund the “Yes” when our families ask. Thank you!
